✂️ Ribbon Cutting Celebration at Ivey’s Bistro

 

Join the community Monday, May 18 at 11 AM as we celebrate the reopening and expansion of Ivey’s Bistro on North Street.

 

Owners Alex, Dan, and their families have expanded the restaurant, creating a bigger and better space while keeping the same great food locals already love. Guests can now also enjoy outdoor seating just in time for warmer weather.

 

After lunch, consider taking a ride over to Houlton Farms Dairy Bar, now officially open for the summer season, for dessert and a little extra local support.

🤝 Looking to Volunteer? “Join or Die” Event This Saturday

If you’ve ever considered volunteering but weren’t sure where to begin, this could be the perfect opportunity.

 

On Saturday, May 16 at 9 AM, the Temple Theater will host a showing of the documentary “Join or Die.” Following the movie, more than 25 local organizations will be set up outside to meet with community members interested in getting involved.

 

No pressure — just a chance to explore organizations that may be a great fit for your interests and passions.

 


👕 Community Clothing Giveaway

 

Adopt-A-Block will host a clothing giveaway Saturday morning at 10 AM at The Church on the Hill, located at 307 Military Street.

 

Community members are encouraged to stop by and take advantage of the event.

The Chamber’s popular “Success in 60” series returns May 29 at noon with a timely presentation focused on Cyber Security.

Andrew Putnam of Katahdin Trust Company will discuss common online threats, internet safety, and practical tips for protecting yourself during everyday computer use.

 

The event will take place at The Living Room on Main Street.

  • $10 for non-members

🌱 Houlton Canopy Crew Planting Day

 

The Houlton Canopy Crew will be downtown this Sunday doing seasonal planting work to help beautify the community.

Construction or not, the group is determined to keep downtown looking its best heading into summer.

 

If you enjoy gardening and community beautification efforts, this is a great opportunity to get involved and meet others who share the same passion.
